Meet the Coaches

2019 Coaching Staff

Tony Checchia, Defensive Backs, Assistant Head Coach

Coach Checchia is entering his 5th season coaching at CR South, and 6th season coaching high school football.  He is a 2011 graduate of CR South and a 2015 graduate of Muhlenberg College.  Coach Checchia was one of the team captains of the 2010 CR South football team that went 9-1 during the regular season and won a share of the school’s first SOL League Title.


John Franco, Offensive Coordinator

Coach Franco graduated from Council Rock High School and Wagner College. As an All-American college football player, he was the 1983 NCAA Division III National Rushing Champion.  He has coached for 35+ years, and is entering his 16th season at CR South. Coach Franco is also a member of both the Council Rock High School and Wagner College Hall of Fame.


Don Harm, Offensive Line

Coach Harm is a graduate of Woodrow Wilson (now Harry S. Truman) High School and West Chester University.  He brings with him 40+ years of coaching experience, and is entering his 9th season at CR South.  Coach Harm is a retired educator.  


Dan Krapf, Defensive Line

Coach Krapf is a graduate of Delhaas High School and attended Trenton State.  He brings 40+ years of coaching experience to the CR South coaching staff.  He is entering his 11th season at CR South. Coach Krapf also coaches baseball at Council Rock South.  


Mike Stock, Freshman Assistant

Coach Stock is a 2016 graduate of CR South High School.  He is entering his 2nd year coaching with the Golden Hawks. Coach Stock is also an Assistant Varsity Basketball coach at CR South, and is heavily involved in the community, through programs such as Athletes Helping Athletes.


Ryan Swan, Wide Receivers/Tight Ends

Coach Swan is a 2003 graduate of CR North High School and a 2007 graduate of East Stroudsburg University.  He played receiver and defensive back in high school and college.  He has served as an offensive assistant at CR South since 2009. Coach Swan had the opportunity to play in the inaugural “North vs. South” football game, and currently lives in Philadelphia with his wife Angie, and his dog Rocco.


Ralph Taylor, Offensive/Defensive Line

Coach Taylor graduated from Neshaminy High School in 1987, where he played defensive end and was an All-League punter.  He is also a 1993 graduate of the PA College of Straight Chiropractic.  Coach Ralph has coached for 5 years, all of them with CR South.  He lives in Levittown with his wife and two kids, and works in the Bucks County Department of Correction.
